Montagu Hospital Rehabilitation

Location:

Montagu, Western Cape, South Africa

Description:

Rehabilitation of Montagu State Hospital for the Western Cape Department of Public Works

Role:

Project Architect and Principal Agent

The Montagu Hospital complex consists of multiple buildings of varying age and construction. A recently renovated block within the hospital complex, now houses the facility’s new 30 bed ward and has left the remainder of the facility to be re-planned and repurposed.

The project, therefore, involves the rationalization of the 40-bed hospital down to 30 beds and includes the re-planning and reorganization of functions to ensure the available space better supports the reduced facility.
